Campanula cochlearifolia Fairy's Thimble
Found in Apennines and the Pyrenees as well as the Alps, this small, mountain plant can be quite variable with white, violet or blue flowers. It is quite hardy even as far north as the British Isles so is a favourite rock garden plant and, as it creeps, it is good for ground cover. You can even buy double flowered cultivars which are truly revolting when compared with the uncultivated wild plant.
