Asplenium trichomanes ssp quadrivalens Maidenhair Spleenwort C DD N
I often find this delicate little fern on or near basic rocks like limestone but there is a sub species which prefers acidic conditions too (ssp trichomanes). It is fairly common both in rocky countryside and in built up areas. This one is most probably ssp quadrivalens as the rocks in these parts are basic and ssp trichomanes has not been recorded form this area.
This sub species is fairly common throughout the British Isles.
