Although most of the flowers are slightly smaller than C. silvatica (Large Bindweed) that isn't a good way to separate these superficially similar plants. The bracteoles (secondary bract) on the outside don't overlap in C. sepium but are usually very inflated and do overlap in C. silvatica. C. sepium is found all over England Wales and Ireland and throughout Southern Scotland while C. silvatica has a slightly more restricted range in Scotland
