Chamaecystus creticus whole Chamaecystus creticus close

This Cretan endemic shrub was often to be seen in full flower by the roadsides. It looks a little like Broom (Cytisus scoparius) but although the main stems are smooth, the lateral branches have long thorns just about visible at the top of the L.H.S. photograph.
