This plant is found on spoil heaps and damp grassland on basic soils on Northern England and Southern Scotland. It looks like the other Cochlearia officinalis (Common Scurvygrass) at first glance but examination of the fruits should show them to be rounder and the leaves are generally smaller than the other common plants of the Cochlearia genus.
