Crataegus persimilis Broad-leaved Cockspurthorn C DD I
This is an introduced cultivar which occasionally escapes. There were no flowers or fruits on this young plant which was growing a good way from habitation. Stace says that the plant we normally see is cultivar "Prunifolia".
It mostly grows in the the south east of England but is dotted about elsewhere but with little in Scotland and none in Ireland.
