Lycopus europaeus  Gypsywort

This member of the nettle family has the look of a plant which will sting if you touch the leaves - which it won't. It has whorls of white flowers which begin in mid to late summer and typically you find it at the edges of ponds or in wet places. It is common in England and Wales, fairly common all over Ireland but prefers the west of Scotland.
