This is one of the larger flowered common forget-me-nots and always grows in or neat water. It can be confused with M. laxa (Tufted Forget-me-not) which also has large flowers, likes wet areas and is distributed all over England, Wales and Scotland except in the highest mountains. Stace suggests that M. scorpioides has the longer style. It also has sepals the apices of which which make an equilateral triangle.
