Finding this amongst ordinary Chickweed (Stellaria media), it didn't at first register as a plant I hadn't seen this year. With its large flower and drooping heads after flowering, I thought at first it looked like Stellaria neglecta (Greater chickweed) but then it was flowering in the wrong habitat and at the wrong time of year. Examination of the stem at the top with a hand lens shows it to be covered in glandular hairs which make it very sticky to touch. The leaves clasp the stem and are cordate (heart shaped at the base).
