I have to confess never having heard of Poa humilis before this WFS meeting in Teesdale where it was shown to us but after looking it up in an older book I note it has had a name change from Poa subcaerulea which I have both heard of and seen. It looks (to me) like a large Poa annua but has according to our leader stolons (Stace says rhizomes) which perhaps is what gives it the name Spreading Meadow grass. It is, according to Stace, under recorded although present throughout the British Isles. I'm not surprised.
