We were a little too early to catch this plant in full flower on our North Yorkshire WFS expedition but the specimen here in full bud gives a good idea of what the plant looks like. Although it does grown on sites in England, Ireland and a few in Wales, its main home in the British Isles is in northern England and Scotland. It will grow in woods as this one was or on rocky ledges on mountain sides.
