One of the ways in which you can separate Ranunculus bulbosus (Bulbous Buttercup) from the other two common buttercups R acris (Meadow Buttercup) and R repens (Creeping Buttercup), is from the sepals which are folded back down the stem. Hairy Buttercup is another one which does this which is just as well because Hairy Buttercup isn't necessarily very hairy at all. This specimen had very few hairs on the stem.
