Scholtzia sp Endemic

Scholtzia sp whole Scholtzia sp close

These shrubs with quite small leaves grow along the western Australian coastal region from north of Geraldton to just south of Perth and inland into the wheat belt. There are almost as many unnamed species in Scholtzia as named ones and none seemed to fit this shrub although there is known to be a Scholtzia growing in the Kalbarri region with pink flowers. The genus Scholtzia was named after Heinrich Scholtz a physician from Bratislava who studied the flora of the region.
