Synpahea polymorpha   Pinda Endemic

Synaphea polymorpha Synaphea polymorpha

There are no absolutely certain identifications in Botany but this is reasonably secure I think. However the English name of Synaphea polymorpha is supposed to be Albany Synaphea with a distribution only around that area according to Florabase -miles from where these were found. However in Australia "known" plant distributions aren't always reliable.

Although is doesn't immediately look like it, this endemic genus is a member of the Proteaceae family (along with Grevillea, Banksia etc.) and has about 50 species endemic to south West Australia.

The name "Pinda" is the one the Aboriginal people gave to the plant.
