Agrostocrinum hirsutum Endemic

Agrostocrinum hirsutum whole Agrostocrinum hirsutum close Agrostocrinum hirsutum fruit

There are only two species (Agrostocrinum hirsutum and Agrostocrinum scabrum) in this genus and the family to which they belong is disputed. Florabase says Hemerocallidaceae but recognises Liliaceae as well. It has rhizomes and tuberous roots and usually grows in shady places such as woodland only in the far south west corner of Western Australia. It is sometimes know as Blue Grass Lily but so are Agrostocrinum scabrum and Caesia parviflora.
