Beaufortia decussata    Gravel Bottlebrush Endemic

Beaufortia decussata whole Beaufortia decussata close

This plant was a little out of range for genuine close-up photos - I would have trampled some rather nice looking species to get closer. Beaufortia decussata was the first of the Beaufortia genus to be described and the author was the famous Robert Brown in 1812. It is found in good numbers along the southern coastal plain from Walpole to past Albany and inland in the Stirling Range National Park where this one was seen.
