Borya sphaerocephala    Pincushions Endemic

Borya sphaerocephala whole Borya sphaerocephala close

A small plant like this is easily missed when seeing so many roadside goodies as there were on this verge. Fortunately there were quite a few of them and close-up the flower has a sort of rounded head of florets as the name suggests. The leaves are very thin and grass-like and the plant grows in tufts.

Borya sphaerocephala is very common occurring throughout much of south western Australia but not as far west as Esperance or as far north as Shark bay.
