Gompholobium venustum Handsome Wedge-Pea Endemic
This plant, like Gompholobium knightianum, is also know as Handsome Wedge-pea. It is also quite similar to Gompholobium knightianum in that the flowers are this shade of pink with a yellow eye. The pinnate leaflets on Gompholobium venustum are much thinner, almost cylindrical while in Gompholobium knightianum they are also pinnate but wide enough to discern veins.
Florabase records for this plant show it is primarily a southern coastal (and a little inland) plant from around Denmark to beyond Fitzgerald River National Park with outliers near Margaret River in the west and Cape Arid in the east. Gompholobium knightianum on the other hand is much commoner from near Geraldton along the western coastal plain, around Margaret River and along the southern coast to beyond Cape Arid.
