Flowering from March to June this shrub woud be covered in pink flowers when in full bloom but was just starting to flower at this time of year. It is an Sea Lavender which is endemic to this region of Spain where, because the annual rainfall is often less than 250 mm the sun shines for over 3,000 hours, it is classified as the only desert region in Europe.
