Thymus sipyleus
Thymus sipyleus has been used for years in Turkey as treatment for inflammatory conditions of the nasal passages. But is there any scientific basis for this? Research has now shown that some of the oils extracted from this plant do indeed have anti-bacterial properties and are significantly effective against Staphylococcus aureus for instance. So this is a case where traditional medicine can be shown to be worth considering.
Thymus sipyleus occurs in parts of Greece, throughout Turkey and in some of the Caucasus countries.
