Primula algida

Primula algida whole Primula algida close

There are some sources which claim that the common name for this plant is Bird's-eye Primrose but in UK we know that name has been associated with Primula farinosa for centuries. World Flora Online says both names are accepted so even though they do look very similar, I assume that they are separate species rather than synonyms.

Primula algida grows throughout the Caucasus mountain countries plus Turkey, Afghanistan, Southern Russia, Mongolia, Iran and Iraq. It is a mountain plant and grows at heights of between 6,500 feet to 23,000 feet.
