Banksia falcata    Prickly Dryandra Endemic

Banksia falcata whole Banksia falcata close

At first glance I thought this was a funny looking Parrot Bush (Banksia sessilis) but the leaves were wrong. It turned out to be a Banksia and one with fairly vicious looking "thorns" on the ends of the leaves. The flower colour can range from pale yellow to almost orange and it is found in the southern coastal plain inland from the Stirling Range to around the Fitzgerald River National Park.
