Goodyera repens   Creeping Lady's-tresses R DD N

Goodyera repens whole Goodyera repens close

Goodyera repens is about the same height as Spiranthes spiralis (20 cm or so) and prefers woodland or forest habitat arthe than open grassland. Many of the plants we found, of which there were hundreds, were partially hidden in the heather of the forest floor so you needed to look carefully to spot them.

Apart from an outpost in north Norfolk, Goodyera repens is mostly found in Scotland and northern Scotland at that. There is none in Wales or Ireland.
