Platysace tenuissima Endemic
The problem for foreigners like me is that seeking an identification can lead in all sorts of wrong directions. I am very familiar with Apiaceae family in the United Kingdom but here in Western Australia it takes all sorts of (to me) weird forms and this is one of them. Fortunately I have friends on the Wild Flower Society of Western Australia's website who don't mind appeals for identifications. So thank you Andrew for identifying this within an hour or so of my posting it. I don't remember much about it other than it was in the bush near the Jewel Cave at Margaret River.
According to Florabase this is at the heart of the Western Australian distribution. This starts just south of Perth extends to Margaret River and is common all around that area and inland. In the south it doesn't quite reach Albany.
