Androcalva stowardii Endemic
The chances are that the leaders on our Wild Flower Society Eastern Tour of the Wheat Belt, Jim Barrow, Lin Barrow, and Elizabeth George who were extremely knowledgeable did tell us what the name of this procumbent species was, but there was so much to photograph for first time botanist in Western Australia that I missed much of the information. I just hoped I'd be able to identify plants from the extensive photos and information they gave us. Inevitably there were species that remained unidentified but but now, with the help of friends on the Wild Flower Society of Western Australia's Facebook page, I'm reasonably sure we have identified this plant at long last. Thanks again to Erin and to Ursina.
Androcalva stowardii is a member of the Malvaceae family and Florabase give at least on record very close to where this was photographed. There aren't too many records of this species an most of them are in the Wheta Belt slight north and inland from Perth.
